Late Season Blues

September/October 2026

I do not go gentle into the Fall. I kick and scream and rage (figuratively, of course) as the days get shorter and the dark comes faster. I hang on to the sun and the warmth as if denial could have any effect on the turn of the season.

Fortunately, I am dual-dominant and am perfectly capable of simultaneously rejoicing in the the riotous color in the landscape and the incomparable slate-blue of a crisp autumn sky.

Relatedly, I am headed to my last show of the year this weekend and am taking two riotously-colored paintings, posted below, with me.

Then, to push the seasonal through-line a little further, I am headed to Patagonia, where it is Springtime, for a hiking trip with friends. My first time traveling to South America; can’t wait!

After that, I shall stop resisting and embrace the brrrr by snuggling up in my studio to work on commissions. Speaking of which, if you want on the list, now is the time.
